On your first visit to our office you will be welcomed with a smile by our receptionist. You will then be asked to fill out some intake forms which will help us gain some information about yourself and your condition. After your initial paperwork is completed, a doctor and/or one of his assistants will talk with you and ask you some specific questions regarding your condition(s). If we feel we can help you we will tell you so and make recommendations accordingly. These recommendations may include examination and/or x-ray or other diagnostic procedure(s), depending on what is needed and necessary to properly diagnose and treat your condition. If we feel we can't help you we'll tell you and give recommendations on what you should do next. In either case, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Be ready to provide your medical history, which will be essential in determining a diagnosis and plan of care for you. Medical records such as diagnostic tests and/or imaging results such as x-ray(s), CT and MRI also provide important information about your condition. Therefore, if you've had any of these performed have a copy of the radiologist report(s) or any other test results faxed to us at (317) 577-5444. We do not need the actual x-ray, CT or MRI films or even copies of them, the radiologist report is sufficient.
Certain things in your health history are particularly vital to us. This information could provide important clues that will allow us to properly diagnose your problem and design a program that is best suited for you. Such clues include whether you have or have had:
- Bone disorders such as osteoporosis
- Implants like pacemakers, artificial joints, etc.
- Circulatory problems
- Dizziness or blurred vision
- Heart conditions such as hypertension or high blood pressure
- Infections, especially those affecting your spine
- Injuries, such as bone fractures, muscle sprains/strain or disc injuries
- Joint disorders such as arthritis
- Sleep apnea
Be prepared to answer such questions as:
- When did your pain/condition start?
- Did the onset of your pain/condition immediately follow an injury or accident?
- Is there anything you do that improves or worsens the pain?
- Where is the pain centered?
- What are the characteristics of you complaint?
- What have you already tried to do to help but didn't work?
Once we have all the information needed and any necessary examinations have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings and make custom tailored recommendations for your care.
Our effective, gentle treatments and alignment of the spine and body are interactive with the patient and gentle enough for kids (they love us), yet able to restore function and movement for the athlete and senior alike.
